Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a supported Windows notebook run three 4K60 displays?
Qualifies in the documented DP1.4 DSC high-resolution DPx 4 arrangement, using one HDMI output and two DisplayPort outputs.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require those three 4K60 screens and four 5Gbps USB-A ports together?
Fails: the high-resolution arrangement does not establish 5Gbps USB data; the default multi-function arrangement does not establish triple 4K60.

Fails: HP permits one external display in that Apple arrangement.

The HP USB-C Dock G5 is a powered desk dock for a supported notebook that needs several monitors, wired networking and ordinary USB accessories. Its two full-size DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI output provide a flexible mixed-screen layout. The key buying decision is the notebook's DisplayPort capability and the dock's operating mode, rather than simply counting three video sockets.
This is the 5TW10AA hardware family, including the independently identified US5TW10AA#ABA configuration. It is distinct from the USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 and the G5 Essential. The original research lead carried a regional refurbished suffix; that does not verify an individual refurbished unit's condition, mains cord or accessory package.
Read the detailed mode table, not just the headline
HP's QuickSpecs separates high-resolution DisplayPort mode using four lanes from the default multi-function mode using two lanes. Its detailed table supports three 4K60 displays on a DP1.4 host with Display Stream Compression in the high-resolution mode. It does not mark that same triple 4K arrangement as available in the default multi-function column.
The default DP1.4 arrangement can provide three Full HD60 displays, and the table also supports two QHD60 displays. With DSC, the default table allows other combinations, including two UHD4K screens plus one Full HD screen. A mixed combination should not become a uniform triple 4K claim. The source assumes that the notebook's graphics processor can drive the required simultaneous displays.
That mode distinction also matters for USB data. The default arrangement has documented USB3.2 Gen 1 ports, while this review does not establish a 5Gbps ordinary-USB mode alongside the four-lane triple 4K60 arrangement. A requirement for three 4K60 displays and four 5Gbps USB-A outputs therefore does not qualify by combining facts from separate columns.
Match the actual screen connectors
A three-screen desk uses one HDMI cable and two full-size DisplayPort cables. The dock cannot meet a requirement for three native HDMI outputs or three DisplayPort sockets. HP's connector table permits either DisplayPort for a single appropriate screen and describes which physical ports serve the different combinations.
For Apple computers, HP limits the arrangement to one external display. The QuickSpecs explicitly names the 2022 MacBook Pro 13-inch with base M2 among supported third-party computers. That exact model does not establish every other M-series chip. ChromeOS also has its own restriction: dual Full HD is supported, with triple screens limited to selected Chromebox systems.
Data, network and everyday access
The default port map contains four USB-A3.2 Gen 1 data/charging sockets and one front USB-C3.2 Gen 1 data socket with 15W peripheral power. That USB-C socket is a downstream accessory connection, separate from the fixed one-metre USB-C host lead. These are 5Gbps ordinary USB connections sharing the upstream link, not independent full-speed channels to the notebook.
Gigabit Ethernet and a combined audio connection round out the desk ports. Some management features, including the power button, Wake on LAN and MAC address pass-through, work only with HP or HP-supported notebooks under their stated conditions. HP also says it does not provide Ethernet and audio drivers for Mac PCs. A supported data/display arrangement is not a promise of every business-management feature on every computer.
The included 120W supply is not the host rating
The G5 uses an included 120W power supply with a 4.5mm barrel connection. HP specifies up to 100W delivered through USB-C to supported HP systems, but up to 75W on non-HP computers. Keep those arrangements separate when checking a notebook's minimum charging need. A demanding ZBook requiring more than 100W may still need its own AC connection.
The 122 ×122 ×45mm body weighs 680g and is designed to stay on a desk. Choose it for a supported powered workstation whose exact monitor modes, connectors and host-power ceiling fit. Before buying an earlier or refurbished package, verify the actual G5 model, complete suitable supply and regional mains cord. Those practical checks determine whether the documented hardware arrangement is the one that arrives.
Key details at a glance
| USB-A downstream data ports | 4 |
|---|---|
| USB-C downstream data ports | 1 |
| HDMI outputs | 1 |
| Full-size DisplayPort outputs | 2 |
| Mini DisplayPort outputs | 0 |
| Advertised Ethernet link ceiling | 1Gbps |
| Maximum stated power available to host | 100W |
| Included supply rating | 120W |
| Power adapter included | Yes |
| Included host-cable length | 39.37 in |
| Stated product weight | 680g |
| Host requirements | US5TW10AA#ABA hardware family reference. The original#ABB-cr refurbished unit condition and mains cord are unverified. G2 and G5 Essential are different products. |
| Screen arrangement | Default DPx 2 and high-resolution DPx 4 are separate modes. Triple 4K60 requires DP1.4 DSC/high-resolution mode. Mac gets one external desktop. Mixed outputs are one HDMI and two full-size DP. |
| Power and charging | Included 120W barrel supply. Host power is up to 100W on supported HP computers or 75W on supported non-HP computers. Demanding ZBooks may need separate AC. |
| Data and device limits | Default Gen 1 ports support 5Gbps. Ordinary USB line rate in high-resolution mode remains unknown here; it is not combined with a 5Gbps filter. |
