Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can this connect three USB-A peripherals when only one needs 5 Gbps?
Yes. Three USB-A data ports are documented, but only one belongs to the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 class; the other two are USB 2.0.
Explore this need in the finder →Is it a fit for two USB-A devices that both require the 5 Gbps interface class?
No. The exact CB-C13 layout has only one USB 3.0 socket. The two slower ports do not satisfy that two-port speed requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a named base M2 MacBook use the laptop-charging arrangement?
The current maker list expressly includes base M2 MacBooks and advertises up to 100 W laptop charging. Use your own suitable PD source and cable; the computer’s actual charging limit still applies.
Explore this need in the finder →A small hub for one faster device and two basic peripherals
The LENTION CB-C13 is a compact USB-C hub with three USB-A data sockets and a separate Type-C charging input. Its defining compromise is the data split: one connection is USB 3.0, while the other two are USB 2.0. It is not the same three-fast-port arrangement as the similarly named CB-C13se.
That division can be sensible for a laptop used with one storage device, a keyboard and a mouse. It is less suitable when several connected drives each need a faster USB interface. Decide from the peripheral mix rather than the four-in-one label.
Put the faster device on the correct socket
The USB 3.0 connection has an advertised interface ceiling up to 5 Gbps. The other two belong to the 480 Mbps USB 2.0 class. Connecting a faster drive to a USB 2.0 socket does not preserve the drive’s higher interface capability.
Even the faster socket is not a measured file-transfer guarantee. The computer, drive, files and shared upstream connection affect actual work. The useful buying question is whether one faster route is sufficient, not whether three physically similar sockets look equally capable.
LENTION specifies no external driver for ordinary data use. Its compatibility information also warns that some high-power peripherals may not start from the host’s available supply, and expressly excludes Apple SuperDrive. Those limits matter more than a generic claim that a USB plug fits.
The female USB-C port is for charging
The manufacturer distinguishes the male Type-C computer connection from the female Type-C charging input. The latter is not a downstream C data port for a USB-C SSD. It also does not add a monitor output.
The current exact CB-C13 page advertises charging a laptop up to 100 W while transferring data and using low-power peripherals. Treat that as the maker’s maximum host charging claim, rather than a promise that every computer receives that amount. The actual host, power adapter and cable still need the relevant USB Power Delivery support.
The package lists the hub, so plan your suitable external charger separately. LENTION warns that a Quick Charge or ordinary non-PD source, or a device without compatible PD charging, may charge slowly or fail to charge. Buying a higher-numbered source does not create a missing host charging capability.
Computer compatibility does not change the port roles
The current source specifically names base M1 through M5 MacBooks alongside earlier Intel models, Windows USB-C laptops and Chromebooks. Those named examples make this a more useful reference than a page that only says “works with USB-C.” Check your exact computer’s required functions and its own support information before planning the setup.
A Thunderbolt-equipped computer can be a supported host, but this remains an ordinary mixed-speed USB hub. It does not acquire Thunderbolt-speed downstream sockets from the computer’s port. There is also no HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet or card reader in the documented arrangement.
A compact shape still needs a sensible desk position
The maker lists a body measuring 3 by 1.4 by 0.5 inches and a weight of 0.08 pounds. That helps explain the intended portable role. It does not establish enough cable reach to span a desk or support a suspended collection of heavy adapters.
Place the hub where the connected accessories can sit without pulling on the laptop port. If the workspace needs a longer lead, a removable host cable or a fixed desk position, choose a configuration that explicitly supplies those features rather than adding them to this model’s specification.
Who should choose the CB-C13?
Choose it for a restrained arrangement: one faster USB-A device, two lower-speed peripherals, and laptop charging from your own suitable source. Choose a three-fast-port hub for several faster devices, a genuine USB-C data hub for C-plug storage, or a multiport dock when video and network connections are essential.
LENTION’s exact CB-C13 page supplies the mixed-speed layout, host examples and charging conditions used here.
