Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I place two USB-A data ports and one USB-C data port in a desk grommet?
Yes, that is the DESK-2U1C output layout. It connects to a USB-A host and needs a suitable 60mm opening with room for the body and cables.
Explore this need in the finder →Are the three USB data outputs advertised for the 5 Gbps interface class?
The exact manufacturer table lists USB3.0-A twice and USB3.0-C once, with a 5 Gbps transfer specification. They still share the computer connection.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the Type-C socket let this hub charge a laptop?
No documented laptop-PD route is provided. The Type-C socket is a downstream data output, and the computer-facing connection is USB-A.
Explore this need in the finder →Bring three data connections into a desk opening
The ORICO DESK-2U1C is for a different problem from a travel dongle. It places two USB-A data sockets, one USB-C data socket and two audio connections in a desk-grommet opening. A USB-A lead runs back to the computer. That can make frequently used connections easier to reach when the computer sits behind or below a desk.
The deciding installation measurement is the manufacturer's 60mm grommet fit. Check the opening, the space beneath it and the path to the computer before choosing this design. A desktop hub that rests on the surface is a simpler alternative when there is no suitable opening.
DESK-2U1C is different from the four-Type-A version
The official store page presents two models under a four-port family heading. Its specification table is more precise: DESK-4U has four USB-A outputs, while DESK-2U1C has two USB-A outputs, one USB-C output and two audio ports. The audio connections do not turn the latter into a four-port USB data hub.
Use the exact model and output map when comparing a seller's package. A picture or heading for the DESK-4U should not add an extra Type-A socket to the DESK-2U1C. Conversely, the DESK-2U1C is useful when one of your data peripherals already uses a Type-C plug.
The Type-C socket is a downstream data connection
The computer connection remains USB 3.0 Type-A. The three USB outputs are described as USB 3.0 with a 5 Gbps transfer specification, sharing the upstream computer connection. That is an advertised interface capability, not a measured copying result or a promise of three independent 5 Gbps transfers.
The Type-C output does not establish laptop Power Delivery, native video or a replacement charging connection for the computer. If one computer cable must also carry charging or a monitor, compare a dock with those actual functions. Here the practical benefit is accessible peripheral data connections in a fixed location.
Check the full cable route, not just the desk diameter
The specified USB-A computer lead is 1.5m long. The regional exact-model record describes it as integrated. Work out its path around the desk and into the computer, allowing slack at both ends, rather than comparing only the straight-line distance between the two.
ORICO also describes a detachable cable manager and a dust cover. The detachable component is the cable-management part; it is not evidence that the host lead can be replaced with a longer cable. The ABS body's listed dimensions are 69 × 47mm, so under-desk equipment and nearby cable bundles need room as well as the opening itself.
Keep the audio and USB requirements distinct
The exact output map includes two audio connections, but it does not provide a complete current operating-system and audio-feature matrix. Check the audio equipment and computer requirements separately when those connections determine the purchase. Their presence is not proof of every headset wiring standard or software feature.
Likewise, the data-hub layout does not document card readers, Ethernet or monitor outputs. This is most useful when those functions already exist elsewhere in the setup. It concentrates a small mixed set of peripheral connections at the desk surface rather than replacing every connection on a full docking station.
A good fit for a measured, fixed installation
Shortlist the DESK-2U1C for a compatible desk opening, an in-reach USB-A computer and a genuine need for two Type-A plus one Type-C data socket. Choose the separately documented DESK-4U layout if four Type-A outputs are the priority. Choose a portable or freely positioned hub when you change desks often or cannot accommodate the fixed body and integrated lead.
