Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the earlier arrangement support two HDMI screens at 4K 30 Hz?
Yes in the documented dual-host arrangement, after exact laptop support is confirmed. Include earlier models to compare it.
Explore this need in the finder →Can both screens require 4K 60 Hz under the preserved guide?
No. The second original HDMI output is limited 4K 30 Hz.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the earlier guide state 60 W host charging and Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes as manufacturer maximum/link claims with a separate suitable laptop power adapter.

The Satechi ST-TCDMMAM Dual Multimedia Adapter is worth understanding when checking an earlier unit or a specific secondhand offer. Its original instructional sheet connects through two laptop USB-C ports and provides two HDMI outputs, USB data, networking, cards and charging input. The important display distinction is that the preserved sheet gives one HDMI port a 4K 60 Hz ceiling and the other a 4K 30 Hz ceiling.
This assessment follows that earlier original sheet. Current Satechi support text describes both HDMI ports at 4K 60 Hz, but it does not establish that an older physical unit has been upgraded. Keep the actual edition and offered hardware in view instead of combining the newer wording with an older model reference.
Two host plugs are part of the requirement
The guide shows two USB-C connections entering the laptop. Plan around both being available and correctly positioned. A computer with only one usable USB-C port, an obstructing case or an inconvenient arrangement of nearby sockets is a different physical setup from the illustrated one.
The original sheet does not provide a complete operating-system and chip compatibility table. In particular, a dual-plug layout does not establish two independent external desktops for every Apple-silicon Mac. Check the exact computer's supported video routes and the adapter edition before choosing it for that job.
A cable-connected dock with a documented host list can be a more practical choice when physical placement or computer changes are likely. Direct attachment is useful only when the connector arrangement matches the machine that will remain at the desk.
Plan the pair around the lower ceiling
The earlier guide explicitly describes connecting up to two HDMI monitors, with one port at 4K 60 Hz and the second at 4K 30 Hz. For two screens sharing a uniform requirement, 4K 30 Hz is therefore the supported ceiling used here. A single screen can use the documented 4K 60 Hz output.
That distinction is relevant to how the desk will feel. Someone working mostly with static documents may evaluate a lower refresh rate differently from someone who expects smooth scrolling and movement on both screens. Decide the required timing for each screen before comparing a general dual-4K headline.
The guide also requires direct HDMI-to-HDMI connections. Allow for two appropriate monitor cables and check which output takes the faster display. A separately purchased HDMI conversion adapter is not part of the confirmed arrangement, and the two HDMI sockets do not provide full-size or Mini DisplayPort connections.
Charging, Ethernet and cards complete the older layout
The original setup instructions describe a separate laptop power adapter connected to the USB-C PD input, with a 60 W maximum output. Treat that as the manufacturer's ceiling for the documented arrangement, not a measured charging result or a supplied wall charger. A laptop needing more power under its intended workload requires a separate decision.
Gigabit Ethernet and both SD and microSD formats are documented. The illustration shows two USB-A data connections; the guide excludes iPad charging and Apple SuperDrive. It does not give a numeric USB line rate or confirm simultaneous access to both cards, so those narrower requirements remain unverified.
Keep a note of the output used by each screen when assembling an older desk. That makes the unequal refresh limits visible if cables are moved later, and helps distinguish a timing mismatch from a missing connection.
Choose this earlier reference only after the exact unit, host and mixed-refresh display plan are confirmed together. If two 4K 60 Hz screens are essential, obtain edition-specific proof or choose another documented arrangement. The preserved original ST-TCDMMAM guide is the basis for the earlier limits used here.
