A useful fit for

A modest desktop USB data arrangement needing accessible sockets and a detachable lead.

The main tradeoff

No standalone phone/tablet charging; current OS and numeric line-rate guarantees are not established in the exact guide.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the earlier supplied USB-A arrangement provide four data sockets?

Yes. Four USB-A sockets and the included USB-A host cable are documented.

A simple desktop data hub with a detachable lead

The Satechi SU-UHA34OR Premium Aluminum four-port hub V2 is an earlier reference for a computer that needs a few accessible USB-A data sockets. The original guide shows an angled body and a separate supplied host cable. Its value is a small, clear data-port layout rather than the combination of displays, networking and laptop charging found on a multiport dock.

Keep the V2 identity in view when checking a particular offer. The exact distributor part reference identifies SU-UHA34OR, while Satechi's own V2 setup guide establishes the operating arrangement. A different Satechi four-port product, especially one with USB-C data or a different power design, should be judged from its own instructions.

Place the hub around the cables you use

The included cable connects to the left side of the hub and uses USB-A at the computer in the original diagram. Because the cable is separate, verify that it comes with an older or used package. The computer needs the matching connection; an additional adapter for a USB-C-only machine is outside the supplied arrangement described here.

Picture the hub on the desk with all four peripheral plugs fitted. Leave space for the host lead exiting the side as well as the devices at the front. A short or awkwardly routed computer cable can matter more in daily use than the small body itself, so confirm actual cable reach for the offered unit before planning its position.

The angled presentation can make sockets easier to see, but it does not establish a clamp, adhesive mount or screw-down installation. If keeping the hub fixed to a surface is essential, choose a model with a positively documented supplied mounting arrangement.

Use the four sockets for the appropriate data job

Satechi describes connecting up to four devices such as cameras, flash drives, keyboards and external storage. The guide explicitly lists compatibility between USB 3.0 and older USB 2.0/1.1 hosts and devices. Operating through an older host remains a different interface arrangement from having a full USB 3.0 computer connection.

The inspected exact guide does not state a separate numeric data line rate. This assessment therefore retains the documented generation and socket count without treating them as a benchmark or manufacturing a per-port sustained speed. All devices still communicate through one computer cable and share upstream resources.

Count which devices actually need data access. Four physical sockets can organize a modest accessory set, but they do not establish an unlimited power budget for several bus-powered drives. If that is the workload, use a model whose supply and supported peripheral load are documented for it.

It is not a standalone charger

The original instructions expressly say the hub will not charge phones or tablets as a standalone charger. They also advise against USB 3.0 PCI-e add-on-card use and Apple SuperDrive. Those are material restrictions, particularly for someone trying to keep an older optical drive or upgraded desktop working through one convenient connection.

The guide does not provide a current operating-system or exact Mac-chip table. Verify the actual computer and peripheral support before treating this older hardware reference as a current compatibility promise. A surviving support sheet documents how the product was intended to work; it does not establish present stock, a particular used unit's condition or a current package.

Choose the SU-UHA34OR reference when four accessible USB-A data connections and its supplied host route match the job. Choose another documented model when charging, fixed mounting, a particular modern computer profile or a measured storage result decides the purchase. The original V2 guide supplies the operating limits used here.
