Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I keep four USB-A data devices connected?
Yes. The exact specification lists four USB 3.0 ports at 5Gbps advertised capability, with shared upstream bandwidth.
Explore this need in the finder →Will it drive a 4K60 HDMI monitor at that mode?
No. The documented HDMI maximum is 4K30.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it charge the computer using a supplied charger?
It supports pass-through charging up to 60W in the current overview, but the package does not include a charger.
Explore this need in the finder →The WAVLINK UHP505 is built around a familiar need: several USB-A accessories, one external HDMI screen and a route for a separate USB-C laptop charger. Four USB-A sockets are its main advantage over compact hubs that leave only two available after adding video. It fits a desk with a keyboard, mouse, printer and occasional USB storage more naturally than a setup centered on USB-C accessories or several monitors.
Four data ports, with a clear limit
WAVLINK lists four USB 3.0 ports, each advertised with a maximum 5Gbps data rate. That is the supported USB interface capability, not a copying benchmark. All four ports ultimately share the computer connection. One storage drive transferring files alongside low-bandwidth input devices is a sensible use; treating the hub as four separate high-speed storage links would overestimate what one upstream cable can provide.
The USB-C socket on the hub is listed for Power Delivery. It is not an additional downstream USB-C data socket. If your external SSD, card reader or phone connects with USB-C, count the ports you actually need before buying. This model also does not add Ethernet or memory-card slots. Its six-function description should not be interpreted as six general-purpose data connections.
One external screen at up to 4K30
The HDMI output supports 3840 by 2160 at 30Hz, with lower resolutions also listed. For a presentation, reference document or mostly static work screen, that may meet the need. For a primary 4K desktop where smooth scrolling and pointer motion matter, a documented 4K60 adapter is a better target. A monitor capable of 60Hz does not raise the UHP505’s specified 4K ceiling.
The attached USB-C lead needs a computer port that supplies native video. A USB-C connector alone does not establish that capability. The hub provides one external display connection; it does not create a second independent external desktop through its USB-A ports. There is no reason to buy it for a two-monitor expansion plan unless the other monitor connects through a separate, properly supported route on the computer.
WAVLINK’s page names Windows and Mac OS, without a detailed list of chip generations. That supports the product’s intended computer families within its original documentation, while leaving exact new MacBook compatibility to be checked. Do not read a general Mac OS line as confirmation of every later Apple chip, lid arrangement or operating-system release.
Charging needs your own supply
The current exact-model overview states up to 60W of power delivery to the host laptop. The package list includes the dock and a quick installation guide, so a suitable charger and its cable remain separate requirements. The computer must accept charging over its USB-C connection, and its normal workload must fit the power available. A workstation designed around a larger original power brick can still need that brick for demanding use.
Keep the charging role separate from peripheral power. A laptop-charging claim is not a guarantee that every USB-A socket can fast-charge a phone or run multiple high-demand drives. Check the attached devices’ requirements and use their own supplies where provided. If a peripheral fails to start or disconnects as more devices are added, reduce the load and verify it directly at the computer before assuming that a data-rate setting is responsible.
The folding lead is the travel feature
The USB-C lead folds into a slot in the housing. That gives the plug a defined place while packing and reduces the chance of leaving it sticking out among other items. It remains an attached lead, so it does not offer the placement freedom or replacement convenience of a detachable host cable. Support the hub and connected cables on the desk rather than letting a bundle pull against the computer socket.
Choose the UHP505 when the four USB-A connections are the deciding benefit and one 4K30 screen is enough. Choose another arrangement when you need 4K60, wired Ethernet, card readers or a known included laptop power supply. Its value is a compact grouping of common connections, with the charging source and exact computer compatibility checked separately.
